Another one from my ‘archives’ is a shot that I took from the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse of the Newport Bay bridge in Newport, Oregon. Once again it was an overcast day that had offered up showers off and on. I was standing in a viewing point on the north side of the bay.
I took this photo in early 2007 with my first camera. I remember the anticipation of having to wait to have my film developed and rush home and look at my shots to see which ones actually came out. There was always a dread that maybe none of them came out and the hope that at least one shot was a keeper.
I liked this particular shot because I was able to capture almost the entire length of the bridge across the bay. You can see the boats along the harbor and the homes and businesses on the other side. I stood there for several minutes watching all the shipping boats going back and forth. Unfortunately, since I was in my early days, I didn’t get any good shots. I was so disappointed but took comfort in the classic scene I captured of the Oregon Coast.
