Stormy Lake Lowell
400|1/100|f6.3|18mm
Another in my stormy day shoot. This is Lake Lowell in Caldwell and Nampa. I don’t know the exact distance around but it is in at least two cities, maybe three. We spend many hours on this lake this past summer in our boat and swimming. Obviously those were much warmer days. There isn’t anything that could make me want to get out on the lake in weather like this.
I took this photo in RAW. Even though it was such a dark and stormy day, I loved how I was able to capture the shoreline. Though the grass is in its dormant stage, the browness of it is a great contrast with the lake water.
You can see a little bit of the clearing skies on the horizon. It was still raining pretty hard at this point. I had gotten out of my car in order to get a great shot. I was only able to snap two before I was soaked. After these, I stayed in my car. Which doesn’t make for great shots but in weather like that, I took what I could get.
